Just downloaded the Beta version of Aftershoot - has anyone here used it for culling? For Editing?

Love to hear your thoughts? Culling can be SO time consuming but wondering about losing good photos.

Corel Aftershot? I used it for a short time a few years ago. I was looking for one app that could read the RAW files from all my camera makes. Since I have already used Corel's PaintShop Pro for many years, I got a great price on Aftershot Pro. It choked on the .DNG filed from my drone, so I found something else that would work with everything.

I use an older version of Luminar now. It doesn't integrate with my file manager like other applications did, so what I do now is to shoot RAW + JPG and review the JPG's, then manually move the RAW copies of the files I am keeping. It doesn't give me the ability to play with WB and exposure in the review process, but it is also very fast. That also gives me a JPG in case something was a minimal editing challenge and I didn't realize it.

No, I don’t think it is a Corel product maybe it is but it started as a culling product and is in beta for editing: AfterShoot

Different product, then. I thought perhaps you were asking about Aftershot Pro with a typo.

Might be a potential trademark lawsuit there.

Yea that is crazy close, I had not heard of Aftershot. Trying the 30 day trial of Aftershoot - if it can help cull with quality in accordance with what I would do, it would be worth it in time savings. Probably not the editing side, I enjoy that process and decision making.

I use photo mechanic to rate, keyword and cull. It's much faster than Lightroom and I can bring this into Lightroom later

My process has become quite expeditious in LR — but the thought of having a program automatically “find” my best ones is enticing. Just haven’t tried it yet. I think that will be this week’s project.

The website says "Aftershoot Edit is currently in closed Beta, soon to be made public. " in the FAQ section. No clue about definition of "soon." The culling features look potentially useful for wedding/event photographers. Will wait to see where this goes after editing comes out of beta. Pricing that includes both feature sets could be crucial in deciding whether to spend time on a trial version.
