A friend uses the PowerShot A60. Photos with the internal flash are sometimes very bad. He asks me, if I can give him a hint what it could be. He shows me this pic, but I have no idea what goes wrong.
What is the reason for this lighting drops?

My best guess is that there is either condensation or water on the lens. That's what makes from the circular "drop" shape. They may have become more apparant with flash because they would reflect light. See if any one else has other feedback.

Hope this helps,
Lee

I use a canon a60 myself and I got that quite often when using flash when there are dust particles in the air. I got this in particular when taking pictures of my father's horses at his farm where there is a lot of dust. I guess this can apply also to anything that can reflect the light coming from the flash and would say that what Tranquil said would make a lot of sens too.

My thoughs are exactly along the same line as suggested by spaque99. If there are small particles in the air, and they are much closer than the subject, they will be brilliantly illuminated by the flash. That causes them to show up when they normally would not.
BTW, for a lot of reasons, on-camera, straight-on flash normally makes for decidedly poor results.

How do you get all this info?
