It's confusing to me to read "Extended Free Study for February, 2022." But then when I made my submission, it said I can't use a photo from before February 15. I've been a way for a while, but just curious why we would use the months name in the title if it really isn't for that month.

Is it true that I can use a photo taken up until March 15 and not get DQ'd for this challenge?

That's looking like a fumble... or perhaps just an incomplete pass. In any case, good catch!
There are already 22 entries, so I will bring it up with the team and see how we want to handle this.

Looks like the pass was complete, the fumble was on my end. The Extended Free studies do always start at the half-month, so it is correct.

Aah ok. Thankfully I noticed this our I would've been DQ'd. I never bothered to check that it wasn't just for the month of February. Luckily the entry photo had exif data that gave me a warning.

Regular Free Studies run from the first to the last of the months.

When they added Extended Free Studies they altered them so everything wasn't due at once.

That's why Extended FS runs 15th to 15th. The name is confusing, for sure.
