hey everybody! :)

just wanted to pop in and say hi.. i've had my digital camera for less than a month, and i'm always used to taking those crazy party pics or the scenic tourist ones.. but i've always been interested in really learning to take a meaningful picture and convey different types of things in it. i'm blown away by lots of the pictures i've seen here!! i must warn that i've had almost no experience in trying to take pics like these, so please go easy while i'm still learning.. i don't even think i've learned about all of the features on my camera yet anyway :P

hope to learn a lot from you all! i know there's all these posts about specific tricks and stuff.. but are there any general/well-known tips i should take into consideration before i participate in my first challenge?

thanks a lot! hope to get to know a lot of you!
jennilyn

p.s. just caught this real quick.. what do you consider a "cliche shot"?

Miss Jennilyn (or should i call you Jiggles? ;) !! Did you find this place off my site or on your own?? This is so awesome!

For any "advice".. i'd say first.. make sure your picture depicts the challenge properly. If its too vague, it might get lost among a lot of the other photographers.

Titles are tricky.. I say go with something that works for your photo but doesn't tell the viewer what the photo is. Like.. if say.. you took a picture of your grandmother's wrinkled hands for some challenge, and you named it "The Lines of Time" or something like that.. then fine.. cool.. but some people don't like "These are my grandmother's hands and they're wrinkled because she's old" as a title ;)

YAY! I'm so excited you are at this site!
