New release - Sony A7 IV - $2498 (body only).

From their announcement: "... the a7 IV promises to be an attractive mid-tier entry into Sony’s full-frame mirrorless system."

$2498 is "mid-tier" now?!

I know, some of you will say it's all relative, but it didn't seem that long ago that (for me) $1500 was expensive. :-(

Compared to their top tier, yeah, but compared by features to cameras historically, nobody would say that the performance of their "Bottom end" FF mirrorless is anything less then really fookin' good.

The technology has come so far, and at such an incredible rate, that the goalposts have wheels on 'em any more.

You still have a plethora of point n' shoot, DSLR and mirrorless camers for $1000 or less.

And those are perfectly good cameras.
