Critics think she's being disrespectful.

What do you think?

I think they're brilliant. And I think that some of the originals were 'asking for it'.

I love it and think the original “artist-photographer” would appreciate the artistry. They remind me of Maggie Taylor’s Work.

I like it a lot, to me it is a transformation from photos as documents to photos as art. I think the unknown subjects would love them if they were still alive.

I'm of mixed feelings. I think many are truly incredible, but I was a little bit on the fence until I came to the last image.

Look at the woman in the last photo. That's a face of a person that's dealt with life. I think the face shows strength, determination and hardship -- so in viewing the photo with that context, it seems disrepectful.

So I'm torn.

I wish we'd have a challenge like that.

I enjoyed them all.

If we do, maybe we could limit (or at least "open") it to our own family photos. I do see what Wendy is saying about the last one . . . but there are others that I think any of the subjects of the originals could only be charmed or amazed in a positive way.

Next time I publish a book I'm going to write "some people are offended" in the press release. Nothing like controversy for some clicks.
