My bread and butter comes from being the Operations Manager of an industrial supply company. We primarily supply iron ore mines, logging companies and paper mills in Upper Michigan with bearings, belts, power transmissions and conveyor equipment. We also sell tools and safety equipment.

In my spare time I offer full service typesetting, including the photos. I mostly work with local restaurants, bars and bands.

I started out as a geeky IT person.

For the last 15 years, run my own business in Organizational Development (basically helping leaders make effective changes in their business), Leadership Training (the "soft" skills e.g. how to give effective presentations, supervise others) and Executive Coaching (help people get what they want from their jobs and life!)

Very interesting thread!

Associate Broker with Coldwell Banker in Ontario, trying to fit my hobbies into my spare time. Enjoying our 3 beautiful grandchildren (2,2,& 5)expanded my photo interest to digital. I also teach a dance class to seniors 4 times a week. I have always loved taking pictures and I am getting hooked on this site.

I'm an electrical engineer. I recently started working for a company designing flash memory products. I'm looking forward to being able to take my work home with me when I get a DSLR to use it in!

I spent the last eight years as a web editor and web manager for large high tech companies. I hated it, left town, moved out to the west coast, and now I'm a political speech and news release writer.

Currently working in the service industry, a glamorous (LOL) term for restaurant. Wait table, cook, cashier and shift supervisor. All midnight shifts (walmart wouldn't hire me!) Spent most of my career in the transportation industry - mechanic, sales, parts, etc, cars and motorcycles. Took career change to stay home with my 2 children as daycare costs was taking about 50% of my paycheck. My wife has the 'real' job, a psychotherpy manager at a drug and alcohol rehab center.

I work in operations mainly organising customers transfers from the airport to their hotel and dabble in other bits of operations as well. I'm a student in college. Been working about a year for a fibers manufacturing plant as a co-op (similar to an internship). Still have a year and a half of classes to go, afterwhich I'll graduate with a b.s. in mechanical engineering. My dream job is to work for Honda (specifically would like to work on alternative energy sources).
