I'm a freelance Chef by trade but I make money in as many ways possible. I mainly teach a cooking course that I designed and wrote the curriculum which includes contextualized ESL(English as a Second Language)and there are a few variations on the basic themes of that course, taught as well. I design recipes, and plates as a consultant, Cater(sales, cooking, booking, planning...) and do private in home food prep for the occasional big name star, amongst other food related things. Also designing a line of Salad Dressings.

I write music(three short pieces for Fashion shows etc.)produced a few web videos, helped design a site or two and sell a photo every now and again.

I need to be my own boss and try any way I can to maintain that status. It's a good way to go IMHO.

I work full time for an Insurance company as a Quality Assurance analyst. I do that for the money. I am a part time artist which I consider to be my real job. I have finally started to make a little money at that. One of my drawings will be in the March edition of The Equine Journal magazine. I am also working on a series of portraits for an investment company to use in thier advertising literature. Check out my work at www.stipplestudio.com
I actually bought my digital camera to be used to take photos to use for my art portraits. I started doing more photography than artwork. Time to get back to the drawing board. One of my most exciting things that has happened to me with my art is that someone wrote an article about me at About.com

Unbelievable thread! and very interesting, too :)

I'm an air-traffic controller. People often think all controllers work at an airport, but not so (although in the past I have worked at airports in Louisiana and Texas). Now I work at an enroute facility near Washington, DC with more than 400 other controllers. I work flights from the NY area down to FL and back, as well as Raleigh-Durham, NC arrivals; Norfolk, VA arrivals and departures, and loads of military traffic to and from offshore military airspace, as well as a military refueling track. In this career, retirement is mandatory at age 56, justabout 10 years ahead in my case, and I have it in the back of my mind to do something with photography as a second career.

I'm a plumber, drainer and gasfitter, with absolutely no knowledge of computers and technology. Am learning how to become computer literate, and am loving my Canon EOS 300D, hopefully I can compete with all you "geeks" (I mean that in a good way) out there in future competitions!

It reminded me of the time I spent on the US, and used to work as a construction worker, setting tile! It was amazing! Learned a lot, also made lots of money!

I have retired twice, once as an architectural photographer and once as a chef. I live on a mall pension, supplemented by book design, rare book sales, and sales of my prints.
