We have to be in Portland for a weekend in June, and my wife and I are trying to plan a little trip around that. We'd like to find a good place to hike and of course, for me, to photograph! She doesn't want to, if possible, drive more than 4 hours from Portland to get whereever.

We've already done the coast by Bandon, Crater Lake, and just Multnomah in the colombia gorge (when we were in Oregon last, a lot of trails were still closed, so we didn't hike just visited Multnomah Falls)

The general list from my wife for me to investigate:

Olympic National Park (the southern section of the park)
Mt Ranier National Park
Mt St Helens Park
Columbia River Gorge
Silver Falls State Park (I've actually been there already, spent a day photographing, but water levels were meager)
Opal Creek

Any info on what you think is best for day hiking and photography is appreciated, and I'll take it from there! And of course, would love to see whatever pics you've posted from there.

Thanks in advance.
