I'm trying to figure out what I'll need to bring. Also, I've never done snorkeling and general underwater photography.

Will there be enough light since I'm not going deep with snorkeling? I'm bringing a olympus tough g6. I also have underwater housing and ports for an old sony mirrorless (nex 5, I think), but also no lighting

I only get one carry on and one checked bag.

I would take the Oly to avoid any hassle. It's a lot of missing underwater and light is only one of the issues. Shoot raw as it will be a lot to adjust in post especially WB which is hard to predict. I guess the camera also has a snorkeling mode. I would play with it. Keep the camera steady is one of the main issues. Hold it steady with both hands. I almost always shoot wide angle and get as close as I can to subject. It's also very fun!
