Has anyone noticed an increase with fan and computer noise with the last couple of updates for Lightroom Classic ?
I am just starting to notice how noisy my laptop gets when doing work in Lightroom Classic. I am running a 2013 MBP (i7; 2.3 ; 16G ram 1TB hd; graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB Intel Iris Pro 1536MB ). I dont know if it is just my machine or whether Lightroom settings can be changed to make it run a little more quietly. Or maybe my machine is reaching the end of its life for Lightroom.
Any advice ?

maybe your fan needs a clean, as dust get stuck very easily into and under the blades. Airflow through your computer is an important part of keeping it cool and running well. Dust and dirt often block fans. You can clean it ypourself very easily.

I noticed in the release notes that Lr has implemented more use of the GPU to speed up the interface, and that certainly could result in higher fan speeds.

Yes, I observed the same and it is all with the GPU processing. I feel like my mac is going to fly away :)

Just was running Lr Classic on my laptop this AM, and yes, it seems to generate more fan action than it has in the past; almost surely GPU related.

I've seen it too, along with a modest improvement in performance.
