it was a great idea ..
but yes .. it would have made it a whole new topic ..
but i will say .. that i felt very happy spending some time in  sherpet's portfolio ..
bringing back memories .. and being transported to her magical universe ..
it was a wonderful little side road we took ..
now back to the business of this side challenge .. !! .. ;
and Margaret marnet .. i will be boring ppl with photos of my family and my dog ..
but i doubt we would get bored with your beautiful landscapes .. there's a new challenge made just for you btw .. ;)

It snowed here yesterday morning, a record amount of snowfall for May all over Switzerland. I love snow so I am very grateful to experience it!

Grateful to my friend Gavin, who ropes me in once a year to help him produce a calendar for WWF UK. He gives me carte blanche to "play" with my editing and I feel not only is it great for my creativity, but I can give something "back" and support a good cause.
He does cycle racing and there is some race in the UK where the "entry fee" is a welfare project for which you have to raise a minimum amount of money (more is obviously better :-)). We produce calendars and prints. Last year was "save the rhino", this year we support a project for the conservation of wild dogs.
All photos are taken by him and/or his wife and myself.

Grateful everyday that I was blessed with these three wonderful kids. I loved them as babies and I love them as adults...

this little girl is Georgia and is Chiara's twin sister ..
she is a lot more outgoing than Chiara ..
altho if you go to take a photo of Georgia she puts on a smile that isnt a smile .. and looks really weird ..
Chiara is the natural smiler of the two ..
i tell them both not to smile if i'm taking their photo .. so that if they do its natural ..
altho usually i try and be sneaky and get a photo when they dont know .. she fully knew when i took tho ..
once again .. i'm more than grateful that they are in my life ..

Walking around Basel I came across this shop window:
That reminded me how grateful I am to have lived in a little wonderland we had in the Australian bush. My husband said it was like living in a Disney world with many animals coming near the house - kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, possums with their babies. Hard to believe now how close we were to nature. |

This is a bit of frivolity I guess, but certainly with a lot of truth behind it.
Grateful for my medical aid who run a health and fitness program (voluntary). You are set targets that you have to achieve every week (depending on your age, health, fitness, whatever). Instead of punishment for not achieving your target, they give you rewards for achieving your target. The "least" you get is a free cup of coffee/cappuccino/tea/hot chocolate type drink at a certain popular coffee chain. It feels good to get that little reward and consider that enjoying it meant that you had a pretty good week behind you from an activity point of view :-).

me and katee took a walk on the firetrail ..
this spider's web and spider caught my eye ..
as you can see his spider's web caught more than my eye .. ;)
edit to add another photo i took just after the spider's web ..
i'm putting the things i'm grateful for in the photographer's comments ..
i think its easier that way .. as you can be looking at the photo and reading the comments at the same time rather than having to go back to the thread ..

It's been cold and rainy the past several days in fact, Saturday was the last nice day. So, I haven't gotten out to do any shooting.. just trying to stay warm and dry. Anyway, this photo of Dexter was taken over a week ago while it was still nice out. I was walking along the edge of the woods and he kept following me so I took a picture of him and it's now on my desktop. ;-) This cold wet weather sure makes me appreciate the sunny warm days we were having before this nasty front came through.
