50 people are dead following a mass murder in christchurch today. four people including a woman this event is unprecedented in our country

Oh no! That is terrible! Heartfelt condolences to the loved ones and to New Zealand as a whole. Such a loss - of life and of sense of security. It changes things.

Oh, Nick, I have just watched the news and I am appalled to find that one of the terrorists was an Australian with a white supremacist agenda. Shattering.

The insanity of this makes me wonder what is happening to the world. The hatred seems to be coming to the top, unbelievably depressing :(

My condolences to all Kiwis and Christchurch, just a few years ago horrible earthquake, and now this. So sorry

thank you all, the police have a 28 year old incustody he is radicalised terrorist from australia, People are asking though how our Spooks missed this one.

We all thoughtthat this would or could not happen to us, we have really lost our innocence

How awful that this evil massacre has hit a peaceful country like New Zealand. My heart goes out to you, Nick, and all your countrymen and countrywomen. In the stunned aftermath your Prime Minister's promise to change the gun laws lets in a ray of hope.

Like you we are dealing with a strong gun lobby, but with this I think the ordinary Joe wants a curb on the type of weapon used by these idiots.

This is so terrible. Sorry for all the people of New Zealand and especially those who lost their loved ones.
