So many great tips re: shooting insects. I'm just going to keep experimenting until I come up with a method that works. I'll be as perSIStent as those bugs. Y'all seem to have come up with a way to do this. With perSIStence I will survive shooting insects!! LOL

SmART thinking -- just remember to be patient as camera shake is likely worse if you're tense and stressed-out.

I don't think it's too RADical to project that people will gRADually improve with practice.

hey guys .. hope i remember to put in those three letters .. ;)
but of course my first thought for an ERN word .. relative to your cruise Lydia was astERN .. how original was that ..
sorry you'll get no clever sentence from me with astERN in it .. i'm so tired i am no longer discERNing .. and yes i know that really doesnt make much sense ..
i did think of tERNs .. wondering if you would encounter any on your travels .. seeing they are fairly nautical type birds ..
thats it from me .. i'm hoping to tERN (turn) in soon ..

The Farallon Islands are very remote like the Galapagos Islands. I believe the Farallon Islands are off-limits to people which enhaNCEs the islands' appeal. Gen, when you went on the tour were you allowed off the boat?

I *think* I went on a tour of the Farallons, but it would have been in elementary school (i.e. a LONG time ago). AFAIK only a few researchers are allowed off the boat, if for no other reason than the rocks are bound to be SLIppery. They are "only" about 30+ miles off the Golden Gate, which is why you can see them in my picture.

NATurally, I’m checking in on you folks.
My ears were burning. :)
I’m in the western Caribbean this week.
Coxen Hole.
I’m amazed that no one thinks that is an inappropriate name.
Say it slowly.
Out loud.
Tomorrow is Belize . I think.
Much better. :).
