I can tell yoU'RE younger than me. I remember the show being on (ran from '53 to '94) but I was already nine in '53 so I don't remember Miss Molly and her magic mirror because the show was geared to a younger crowd. I was just reading about it and what you say is true, kids sat there and waited to hear their names being called. Magic memories for sURE!

RADio was all we had and I recall going over to my grandparents' to watch their TV. I seem to recall my mother listened to a radio soap opera called The Romance of Helen Trent which aired from 1933 to 1960. I don't know exactly when we got a TV but my aunt never got one (by choice). Her favorite radio show was Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion.

I listen to a lot of radio -- I find television suffers from a dearth of upLIFting programming these days.

TV is almost ENTirely commercials, particularly pharmaceuticals. I guess it's a sign of the times.

Foxtel is available but it's pricey. If I get tired of CNN & MSNBC I just switch to Smooth Jazz on the Music Choice channel. I want to WARn you though.. it's pretty addictive. ;-)

I find that I enjoy it much more than the chatter.
How was your trip, GeneralE?
I hope you ADDed to your stock of photographs!

GenE isn't back yet so I'll keep the ball rolling if that's okay. Traveling is one good way to add to your sTOCk of photos however, I've narrowed my sights down to the tiny critters along the woods which actually expands my photographic horizons in a more localized manner. In essence, I've taken a page out of Roz's book and am focusing my sights on the world of insects.

I'm back but tired ... I have a few photos, but for this trip photography was SECondary to music recording, which did go pretty well. I'll try to post some of each soon, but as some of the pictures are destined for challenge entries I have to be circumspect about which.

Welcome back, Paul. Did you happen to see the murals? Evidently, Los Angeles street artist Shane Grammer, originally from Chico, was moved to drive up and spray-paint hauntingly serene portraits across ruined structures around Paradise. Having gained permission from property owners, he went about putting up a series of 17 murals, one of which depicted a resident who died in the fire. That's something I would definitely want to see and photograph!! https://imgur.com/gallery/dvNNaCt
URSA Major and URSA Minor are constellations (no relevance).

By now most people have forgotten (or never knew) that SCUBA was originally an acronym, even tUBA players seem unaware.
