SHUtting down torrential rainfall is easier said than done.

I wish they would pICK a more substantive issue to get excited about.

Most of them are too young to remember the cold war and the actual events that led up to the Roswell hoax. Hopefully, they won't make a**holes of themselves and have NETs thrown over them and be dragged away like wild animals.

I imagine those attending were rather vAPId in their outlook on life.

Definitely not a RENAissance gathering.

I heard about it -- another EXTremely stupid and EXtraneous distraction from the actual needs of the nation ...

Anyone hear about the Storm Area 51 event? Hope they don't all end up behind bARS.

I'm sure you'll find similar sentiments from people in cITIes all around the world.

I'm sure we all AREn't disappointed about the new changes that are coming! I know I'm excited!

I've enjoyed this site so much with Langdon and SC in charge...and am looking forward to seeing the next rendition of DPC!

If it keeps happening I will.

I think the Administration has its hands full with the transition so I'll see what happENS but if it remains a problem I'll do a ticket. I hope the transition goes smoothly.

SOFor what it's worth... I'm thrilled that there's a "newbie" who's gonna take over. I'm sure that Langdon's been tired of us for years but has held on... for old time's sake.

I can't wait to see what happens!

Something's wrong with the code in this thread!! The last post.. in this case GenE.. would not show up when I clicked into the thread, obviously page 32. All I saw was my last post on page 31! However, in the Home page it indicated GenE was the last post. The only way I could get it to move to pg 32 was to post something new and suddenly Paul's post comes up. Something else for you guys to fix.

Yeah, I used to play around with Photoshop at the local Mac dealership.. probably one of the first versions. ALCohol never entered the mix.

I don't know WHAt to say -- I can't really program, but I set type on a UNIX system using a "dumb" terminal and 300 baud modem, and I've been using WHAt eventually was bought by Adobe and re-named "Photoshop" since before there were digital cameras (it came with a scanner we had). It was really interesting using it on a Mac SE (9" B&W -- not grayscale -- screen)!

I recall those days when Power Macs could be bought at the local Sears store. I used to set up new desktop units for people. Stuff had to be rECHarged and programmed. I worked in JavaScript and wrote my own animated GIFS. And that was in the 80's!!!!

I was not AMAzing at it, but... I did a pretty good job at technical support with software and hardware... back when computers took up an entire room and required a separate a/c unit to cool said room. Ha!

What did you do in the computer industry.. did you write code? The 80s were a major turning point in the industry. ExTRA emphasis was placed on the World Wide Web.

07/15/2019 05:26:08 PM · #21
HAVIng no ambition anymore... I am still proud of my job well done, out-earning many men (including my Hubby) when I was first starting off in the computer industry in the 80's.

I think the pay is much more equal for men and women than the media portrays.

Go, Lidia!

07/15/2019 04:22:42 PM · #22
Lidia was breaking barriers in the insurance industry, she wanted to become an agent. This was back in the 80s when women were considered inferior to men in most industries. It's a little beTTEr now but still needs improvement.

RESt assured that this Lydia is not a go-getter. :D

Your friend sounds intent on expanding her hORIzons -- just make sure she keeps them level.

07/14/2019 09:08:46 PM · #25
I had a friend in S Florida named Lidia which is the Spanish version of Lydia. She was from Cuba and great COMpany.. very smart and achievement oriented, a go-getter.
