I'm supposed to be giving a short presentation on art in conservation to a group of teenagers on Saturday.
I figured I'd start off by saying that you can use art to try to make people feel something.
So I went to find challenges regarding feelings.
I found "Emotions". But not finding other things!!
Since that's a big part of photography (imo)
The challenge would be: Make us feel something. Leave a comment about whether or not the photographer was successful in making you feel something and what exactly did they make you feel?
question though: should we have them title their photos "untitled" to see if the photograph speaks for itself? Or should they be able to put in a title that gives a little explanation without giving away what they want us to feel? |

That's a huge project Wendy! I do not think I can be of any help since I am not in tune with:
"you can use art to try to make people feel something"
This would narrow you to a very limited area.
Why not:
art to try to make people think or understand or find or be curious.... |

They're teaching kids about how to get involved in ocean conservation. But not all kids want to do cleanup or convince people to get rid of single-use plastic. So they're having a session on conservation through art. Which I'm taking to mean using your art to help a goal. Documenting the problems, showing the joys, etc. A picture is worth a thousand words. National Geographic uses photos to get people to care about issues. So you can get people interested by using your art. |

I like a "Make us feel something" challenge. Instead of insisting on "untitled" you could just say something like "Don't tell us what to feel in the title. Make us feel something with your photo." |

That's good. That would work. |
