I noticed that there are some photographers here that have a whole list of cameras and lenses, I’m just wondering if you have kept them all or are they the cameras and lenses you’ve used since you started DP challenge?

Just curious because once I’ve stopped using a camera or sold it I delete from my profile page.

I'm still regularly using two of the cameras on my list, but I keep them all there to be sure any references on old pictures remain intact. AFAIK I still have all the accessory lenses listed though I don't use them often.

Ok, I thought about that when archival challenges come up. I've lost count how many cameras I've used until I check the exif details, and find a camera I've used that has long been forgotten.

I occasionally go into my profile and remove things I no longer have. Might still be a couple of legacy items in there. BRB...

Not too bad, removed one kit lens that I gave away to my daughter in law.

Just checked and, yeh, everything is current. The 5D "classic" is actually being used by my son, but it is still "in the family." The ancient Nikon 995 is still around, but has not been fired up in years. Batteries are probably toast.

I update/prune mine every time I buy or sell... or borrow, for the matter of that :-) So, for example, years ago when my sister was here I used her i-phone and that made it on the list for a couple weeks :-)

FWIW, I checked my earliest entry and, as I had suspected, once you enter camera data for an image it stays with the image regardless of whether or not the camera or lens is still in your profile.

I also update my list regular.

I keep mine up to date as seems pointless listing kit I no longer have

I'm ashamed to admit that aside from the little Pentax which "went blind" I still own everything on my list. I wanted to use my older Lensbabies as a trade in towards the new one but was told there was no demand for that technology. I really need to dispose of some other old stuff though - just hate thinking about how much I'm going to lose on it.

if i no longer have a lens or camera .. i still keep it on the list as a camera or lens that i have used ..
that way .. if i have done really well in a challenge .. it will show .. because if someone clicks on that camera or lens it will show the highest scorers ..

It should still show even if you have removed the camera/lens from your profile. I can still see me listed for Canon 40D though not on the first page.

And I can see roz has a lot of presence for the Canon 40D too :)

I've added subsections on my profile page.

Prior Equipment that's found new homes:
Lightly used equipment still hanging onto:

... and put links to the corresponding equipment page.

That's brilliant. I want easy access to the pages for equipment I no longer use so I think I should do something similar.

I still own it all with the exception of the Fujifilm 1400,(my first digital camera) which went to my son and then went to camera heaven. I'm a bit of a hoarder, so the rest of it is here, and I still play around with it from time to time. But I think my waterproof Olympus is dead :-(

I prune my list, too. One amusing thing is that a couple of years ago, I retired my original D70s and had it sitting around as an ornament. For some reason, I dragged it out, charged up the battery, and took it to work as an amusing aside/backup camera. I have since entered a challenge or so here and there so I put it back on my list.

It's kind of fun that after all these years, I have my "final" camera that I'll use forever (Unless I break it or it gets stolen) and the very first DSLR I ever had.

I once had a great deal more equipment than I do now, but my list is indeed reflective of what I have in my possession.

I donated a great deal of my equipment to the local high school since it offers a digital photography course. That made me rather popular with the students, but paled in comparison to the kudos I received when I gave away a car to a friend of mine`s daughter. The smile on both of their face was a great reward.
