Today will be the last day for people to sign up!

In the meantime, I will try to reiterate the guidelines for PPChallenge 2019:

1) All photographers will submit one image. The image must be yours.
Put the photo into your Workshop. If you want to link to a RAW image, put the link in the image comments. Like this:

2) Everyone will have 3 weeks from the start to complete as many edits to as many of the images as they can. The goal being to impress the photographer and be selected as a top-3 choice by her/him.

3) There are no editing restrictions. You can use any images, text, or artwork to embellish the original image. You can do a simple color and crop adjustment or clip a piece of the image and put it into another scene and create a movie poster out of it - or anything in-between. Don't be afraid to go wild or exceed expectations. Keep in mind that we are all DPChallenge members so keeping in the sprit of the site will likely get better results.

4) When you complete the edit on an image, you can post it here immediately or at any point within the 3 weeks. I am hoping many of us share during the 3 weeks.

5) The finished edited images should be in your portfolio so we can read something about how / why you edited the way you did. Like this:

6) At the end of the 3 weeks, we will consolidate / organize the images and each photographer will select their top 3 edits. These will be ranked as 1st, 2nd and 3rd; receiving 5, 3, and 1 point respectively as has been done in prior PPChallenges.

7) After totaling all the points, the the top 3 PP'ers will get blue, red and yellow special ribbons and the rest of us will get participation trophies! ;)

Very nicely explained and illustrated, thank you! Question: once we post an edit, is it final? I'm thinking about people who may post their edits as they go, but get a different idea before the 3 weeks is up. Thanks.

Good question.
I hadn't thought of that. Keeping in mind that the main priorities of this challenge are learning, having fun and sharing our creativity, I would say changing your image before the end of the 3 weeks would be acceptable.

And do we post the final products in this thread or send them to you for uploading?

Just post here. That way there will be no waiting for me.

Ok I have loaded a JPEG image into my workshop, and Im trying to link the DNG image in the comment box. I have installed Google Drive but I have no idea how to create the link..can anyone please talk me through it. Also excuse my ignorance but is a DNG file a raw file?

I have put an image in my workshop (full size version and 1200 pix version). Way down the bottom of it.

and to my understanding, yes, a DNG file is a RAW file.

I just sent a message to everyone who has not yet sent me their image in hopes that we can get this thing rollin' :)

I have the privilege of being able to wait to choose my own until everyone else has submitted theirs. But I CAN'T decide what to submit! I have 5 options ...
I might need to roll some dice or flip some coins or something ;)

How many more needed? Maybe deadline?
02/15/2019 09:03:08 PM · #65
If you're going to wait to post them all at once, you should probably start a new thread with the links for people to post entries -- keep this thread for "administrative" discussion only ...

Sounds good. Thanks.
