When I found photos of where I grew up (Katonah Ave. of the Woodlawn section of The Bronx), as it looked in about 1940, it was like feeling the reverberations of a distant gong. Many of us have certainly experienced this in one form or another. Aside from the buildings it's so interesting to look at the people, the signs, the cars and all the accoutrements of whatever era we're exploring. Right now I'm looking out the window I earlier saw from the street in 1940. Yes, what a treat. |
