Looking for a super light travel tripod. Looking for something minimalist that won't take up much weight or space in my luggage when traveling for work. Currently I have a Tamrac Zipshot and a Zipshot mini. Very portable and lightweight and a decent height that doesn't need to stand on anything else. But it's not rock solid for long exposures in a breeze. Also a Tabletop Manfrotto, this one is rock solid stable, but needs to be placed atop something.

Holding up small mirrorless.

Suggestions?

When traveling, I use the MeFoto Roadtrip. It is relatively compact for a full-height tripod (fits in a carry-on), and I've used it successfully in some challenging situations. It may not fit the bill of "super light" though. Bear in mind the weight listed on the linked page is with the included head.

Benro makes some decent lighter weight tripods. I picked this one up for vacations, etc... and it's supported my Sony A77 / 70-200 combo securely. Prices seem reasonable.

Here's the one I bought a couple years ago. Benro Classic 4-section Aluminum Tripod

ETA - Sorry Steve, just looked at the ZipShot you linked and it's way smaller than what I posted. :-{ Good luck.

I have a Vanguard carbon fiber https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1123593-REG/vanguard_veo_265cb_carbon_fiber.html that I absolutely love but is no longer available. I'm sure there is something very similar that can be purchased now. I am also looking at this one from Costco for my boyfriend. https://www.costco.com/.product.1259276.html at $100 it is a really good deal.

Not sure how big you want to go but these are both highly rated "travel" tripods.

I found what appears to be exactly what I was looking for, however it's not shipping until may.

Lumapod

I took a chance and ordered the smaller model, which should be more than sufficient for my micro 4/3 cameras.

In the meantime, I bought this compact 20" brand X tripod from Amazon for a short notice work trip to San Diego. Received it today and it should be solid for long exposures at night. Not really tall, but not on the ground either.
