Post your outtakes from the Bokeh X (DPL4 WK5) challenge here.

Not an outtake but I figured someone may enjoy the set-up shot. Travelling for work and didn't have an entry in for either of the DPL challenges for the week. Not wanting to let my teammates down, I took a quick trip to Walmart to buy some background material, an LED light bulb, and LED string lights and re-arranged the hotel room into a studio.

Now that is dedication! And looks like it paid off as you got a decent result. Thanks for sharing

Paul - I actually really like both the butterfly on verbena shots. I gave the hen a 6, would probably have been a 7 from me for the butterfly.
Mariuca - easily the right choice. I am ashamed to say that I didn't appreciate it whilst voting, but revisiting it, i like it the more.

Sara - I think you chose the right one. I prefer the crop in the one you entered. The bee shot is good but don't think the Bokeh is as good as the flower shot. I wonder if a square crop of the flower would have worked better.

I knew when I entered that the outtake was safer and in hindsight I am positive it would have scored better than my entry. But my Weather score at the time was such that I also didn't think the outtake could outscore THAT, so I decided to see what would happen with the butterfly.

It turns out that overall scores were enough higher in Weather than in Bokeh that it would have been close and my safer Bokeh entry might just have outscored Weather.

HOWEVER, I do not for a minute regret my decision, even in hindsight :)

(edited for antecedent clarity)

I think you went with the right one, Paul. I might have suggested looking at a crop that loses the white on the left and the same amount on the right and then a horizontal flip.

Right one for me, Mariuca.

Sara - a square crop is intriguing though, given the challenge, it's tempting to leave in all the beautiful bokeh. I would probably have changed the color of the yellow to green.

I like the butterfly better, mostly because it's more unusual, but I'm really glad you posted the other because I've been trying to remember the name of that darned flower for ten years!

Mary, u chose the right one. I would hv cropped it for more impact on main subject. Dragonfly is very proned to highlight on compound eyes & top of thorax. Try shooting, if possible, when the clouds covering the sun or not direct sunlight. It will act as a filter.
