Outtake

I am satisfied with finish on entry. Curious about the outtake which I decided was not serpentine enough.

The colours of the sky in your outtake are lovely. But you're right, Nikki, it was not serpentine enough for my taste.
I gave your entry a 7, I would have given 6 for the outtake

I was quite disappointed with the result on this one especially as I got up at 4am to take this shot:)

I think this one would have been better for the challenge. Both are good photos, but I feel the one you entered would have done better in a Free Study.

My pick would be the staircase. (I gave your entry 7.)

I can't even. I had so many that I should have put in and didn't, changing last minute to something shoehorned and I paid for it. So while I know you'll say the outtakes would have been higher my question is which one would have been best?

Outtakes that I'm still kicking myself over:

(Note: I would have removed the border and slightly tweaked the edit)

Think I would have picked this one as its in your face serpentine shapes. I am not quite sure what the first of your outtakes is - 2 kids slides?

The one with the serpentine shapes in the street I like but as I have to scroll up and down to see the whole image it ruins the experience for me.

What I entered (an admittedly rather uninspired shot):

I guess the outtake would have done better, if only because it couldn't have done much worse ;-)

Yes, the first is two slides. I really hate what this site does to vertical crops but at least in voting it would have been compressed so you can see the whole thing. To do that otherwise you need to right click and choose "View Image"

That's a really great set of photos Giles.

I would have struggled to decide. Couple of picks but to be honest, there is little in it

Juliet - I really like this one but not sure it would have scored better than your most excellent entry

This one would have scored at least two points and probably 3 higher from me. I think it's a great find and very well done.
And if this is a vertical image, I can't see anything but the horizontal, even with right click>view image . . . AND it looks great to me as a horizontal :)
