Should I care? Possibly not. But I do because of an email I received a few years ago that put me off commenting (for a while) on anything but high scores. The individual disagreed (very very strongly) with my comment that accompanied it. His response was really horrible and negative. I won't say anymore except that there's enough negative in this world without exposing myself to the risk of more if someone like that then associates me with a lower than expected score! (That individual is no longer active but I still take a deep breath before commenting on shots of his genre just in case .......)

Did you report that to the SC? Because an "abusive" response to a comment is a TOS/rules violation and would subject the writer to disciplinary action.

If it was not abusive, but only a difference of opinion, then why should that stop you from expressing yours?

Thanks GeneralE. It's in the past now and I haven't had anything negative (from anyone!) since then. I am also aware that the SC deal with these things if reported so I'll bear that in mind if it happens again. It left a sour taste at the time but there are so many fabulous people on who have FAR outweighed the negativity of just one I will just press on and comment with a smile :-)

[I'd still vote for getting rid of the comments average though ;-) ]

I don't know who is giving me not so great scores, but the feeling is pretty universal on two of my entries! The other two, though, are doing very well. So I'm happy!

Of course the “other 2 are non-DPL”???

I'm actually a little angry this morning, vanishing point is only at 73 votes. Come on people that is only a little over half of the people that entered the challenge. I know your excuses, you are busy, your internet connection is slow, you don't like to vote in challenges you enter, blah blah blah. I took the time to give your photo a vote, please return the favor.

Vanishing Point V (DPL4 WK4)
Stats: You have rated 123 of 128 images (96%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 12 images (9%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.9593.

Methinks it's going to take HUGE scores to win this one.
