So I finally placed high enough for the admin to request my proof of edit. Is this routinely asked for of the top selected? Please don't hear this as a complaint, I'm just curious . . . thanks!

I think they audit all challenges as a routine, Not sure but think the top10 are asked to supply original

Top 5 are automatically asked. The validity of any other entry may be questioned if there is doubt.

congratulations on finishing high enough to learn this :)

sometimes you might be asked to provide validation for images before the challenge ends. it's slightly annoying, but basically it's because somebody suspected that a rule was violated and reported it. i think the SC will probably give these reports a quick run through before requesting a validation image.

Yes, we look at reported images ourselves, and as a rule only request proof if we think there's a real issue. However, if an image is drawing a significant number of "reports" from voters, we'll sometimes request proof even if we're pretty sure it's legal, just so it can receive a "this image has been validated" stamp while voting is ongoing to (hopefully) protect it from "this can't be legal" down-votes (which are, of course, illegal themselves). But this rarely happens.

Happened to me on and I was grateful for it - didn't help the score, though LOL
