LOL. Definitely April Fools:
Originally posted by Kapoor: Kapoor said that he was pleased with his first public experiment with Vantablack and plans to spend the next year applying it to all of his large-scale outdoor works, beginning with his London tower, the fire-engine red “ArcelorMittal Orbit” (2012). “Since I started taking on these large public projects, the world has become a much darker place,” he said. “I want my work to reflect that.” |
As IF he could get approval, jejeje® |

LOL!
Yeah, some levity for the season.
Since it Vantablack requires high heat for application, I can't imagine how it they could actually apply it. Plus it can get scratched off pretty easily.
But yes, he has exclusive "artistic" use of the stuff. |

I see the Bean most weekdays. I think I would have remembered this. Kapoor is the designer of the Bean and he appears to have licensed Vantablack for art, but... |

Punked!
Well, in my defense, there is a version of Vantablack that can be applied by spray and then post-processed at low temperatures, so coating the bean is not as far fetched as you might imagine. |
