I have just broken my Gitzo G1120 tripod attempting to free a stick leg.
So I need a new tripod. I was very happy with the Gitzo apart from the legs getting stuck on a few occasions (prob due to me not looking after them properly)
So any recommendations for a budget tripod?
Not too worried about the weight. I have a Manfrotto 498RC2 ball head
The Manfrotto 190XPRO Aluminium 3 Section Tripod with Horizontal Column looks promising?

I have the Manfrotto 190XPROB, probably an older version of the one you're looking at. I really like working with it. In some cases that horizontal column is quite handy. Only thing I miss is the possibility to put that column upside down in cases where you need a really low POV. Now you have to spread the legs as far as possible to create that POV. But in all I'm very pleased with it. |

Thanks Kees. On that recommendation I have ordered it as I need a tripod for Monday for the big moon :) |
