I would have to refresh my memory but the goal of the flip n bend was to render it unrealistic, in my opinion it was not a photography contest.

That is why I suggested an Expert editing monthly FS, so those of us who wanted more creative freedom could get some. You do understand photography is much more than just natural, as you see it documentation don't you? Photoshop is to digital what a darkroom is to film.

Gipper11 with an average score cast of 4.6 it doesn't look like there's much that tickles you.

I had noticed the same thing.

I give my share of 6 up to 10 but there are a lot of entries that are far below the 5 mark and I vote on 100% of the entries when I vote, unlike many voters here. I could prop my average vote up if I only voted on most of the mediocre entries and forget about the the best entries and the lower end of the scale, that is why if one votes they need to vote on all entries not pick and choose.

Lots of people have a low voting average. Lots of people have a narrow range of acceptability. Being a photographer does not guarantee an open mind.

Wanted to enter this but accidentally deleted one of the originals DAMN!! Took a lot of time creating it from two images processed in Photomatix and a lot of photoshopping. Would like some honest opinions on it for future reference. Thanks in advance!

Message edited by Bear_Music - Please don't show outtakes while the challenge is in voting, Thanks..

I was just thinking to myself how it's been a while since we had a resident curmudgeon doing his thing on a regular basis :-)

looks a little too cut and paste... the segull doesn't blend too well. i always have a hard time with this also... a slight blur of the edges usually helps. also, composition overall a liitle too centered. just my 2 ¢

Thanks for your critique.. am still working on this.
BTW, it's not an outtake. Nothing was entered. Just fishing for comments on the process.

Anything that you *might* have entered, but did not, is an "outtake" by our definition, especially when you publish it in a scoring thread for the challenge and invite criticism. Feel free to repost the image and ask for critique AFTER the voting is finished :-)

How do you know if people vote 100% in a challenge or not?

Will do!

This is why there is an official outtakes thread for each challenge posted automatically at rollover, when the voting closes -- you can post it there as soon as the front page refreshes ...

All of my scores have hit rock bottom in the last 24 hours or so.
Too much negativity around here I believe:)

Mine's been on a +/- 0.25 point rollercoaster for the last day or so. The odd thing is it's not in small increments, it's like 2's and 9's.

Done in a darkroom. Still a photograph.

i'm going to have some fun with this one too...from the
Wonderful World of early Photography
comes the factoid:

World's First Photomontage

In 1858, Henry Peach Robinson [wiki] made the world's first photomontage by combining multiple negatives to form a single image.

Those are pretty cool. I have also been a fan of Scott Mutter
