YOU are AMAZINGLY generous with your talents, time, and dedications, Henk-Jan!

It's a tight race for many! I've been watching it with great interest!

Thanks BUNCHES for your work all year... every year!

If you tire of it, please say... so someone else can step up. You've certainly done your job well!

I appreciate you.

Sorry for the delay. Weird hospital results for my wife came in the way. B&W view: My wife is feeling good, the hospital results says: you can't feel good. So more investigation needed. Exciting time :( Meanwhile running some checks before posting the final results, so stay tuned...

You could’ve been you could’ve been :-)

Thanks Margaret for pushing me, if it wasn’t for you maybe things would’ve been different. Keep up the good work, and and maybe you’ll win this year, as I am slowing down. Lawrence, you did amazingly well this year, congratulations on third place. You’ve come a long way, and who knows maybe you’ll give Margaret a run for her money as well :-) well done to all the others in the top 10.

Henk, thanks for all your hard work compiling this list, I know you’re under pressure with your wife, and I hope that she is getting better.
Tate, thanks for the ribbons.... and thank you DPC.

Thanks, Henk-Jan. I sometimes not sure about doctors. Their focus seems to be the determination to find a problem even if there isn't one. I hope this is the case!

Congratulations, Anita, I did make you work a bit harder ;)

Nice also to see that Larry got his well deserved ribbon :)

My sincere congratulations to every member of DPC who has taken the time and effort to submit photographs for voting in DPC and voted in the challenges. You are a person who has the desire to be a better photographer and is willing to expose yourself to the agony of defeat, criticism and self reflection in front of all the members and onlookers of this club. Each of you has your own reason for doing this, but we all end up better photographers and people because of it. I personally have enjoyed the camaraderie of DPC the most. I am a competitive person but the competition is with myself. It is exciting to get a good score on a submission. Who on this site would not get a thrill for winning a ribbon or coming in the top ten or even just getting a personal best? It shows that people enjoy and appreciate the effort put into a submission, but it also shows you are improving and your efforts are worthwhile. There is a saying that you learn more from failure than success. That is definitely true here. Success follows failure. Having been on DPC from the beginning and being an old man I feel I am entitled to give advice! Don't give up. Accept defeat as a learning experience. Embrace the joy of photography. You will get out of it what you put in.

I thank the Site Council and especially Robert (Bear) for the unselfish commitment to making this website successful. I hope you know how your time and effort has enriched the lives of so many people. This website, without a doubt, would not be the place it is without you. It has been my pleasure to know you. You have been a mentor and a friend to us all.

Henk, you deserve a ribbon for your dedication in providing DPCer's a gauge by which we can measure our improvement year after year. This is no small task. I will take the liberty of thanking you from everyone on DPC. We are all grateful for your efforts especially during this difficult time.

Ha, for many of us here winning a ribbon is MUCH easier than "just getting a personal best" :). My last personal best was in 2011.

Congrats to all the winners, you guys demonstrated amazing dedication and stamina in addition to your talent! And thanks to Henk for doing it year after year for this community!

Get to work, Marac! Plenty of incredible Libraries in UK:
https://www.mirror.co.uk/travel/uk-ireland/gallery/12-incredible-libraries-uk-need-13150297

Just get a TT and you are in! :)

PS After seeing these UK libraries I have no chance in this challenge! The only really incredible library is in St Gallen and you cannot take photos there. Actually, you can't even breathe! They have there some very old and delicate manuscripts.

Not sure about the complete history of this (just for fun) race, but ,digging in the archives here I found this (2009) and this (2006). Feel free to post any other link (if you can find one) of the start of this madness :)

WOW! That's pre-history to me. Unfortunately I discovered DPC when a lot of great photogs have already finished participating. It would be nice to see them back. Maybe have an archival Old Masters of DPC challenge and send them insisting invitations with promise of all time glory? :)

You did a good job at the latest rollover ;) New, more modern version is on it's way, but it will take some time.

I really like the current version, it is incredibly clever in the way it integrates with DPC website :) I assume modern means new user interface rather than different functionality?
