I'm still at 6.3 with 7 comments. I think that people comment more on bad pictures than good ones. Has anybody else noticed this, too?

Not a very nice comment!

Does anyone aim for the Brown!!

This is a weird one for me; I have never gone up and down so much, but mostly down since the beginning! Maybe I should tape over my update button!

I have no idea what is wrong with mine, I think its one of my best, and no one is telling me. Only 2 comments.

I'm having a blast watching my score.. It'll start at about 5.92 in the evening, then slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly climb up to a 5.98.. and then BOOM.. 6.01-ish by the morning.. and then it'll stay there allll day, until about 4 in the afternoon, and then someone will come along and give it a 3. BANG.. back down to 5.4.. then another 3 or 4.. 5.2.. then the climb will begin again.

Crazy.

What is it about late afternoon/evening grumpy voters? Bad day at work?

Currently I'm at 6.0157 with 14 comments.
Hopefully, *this* afternoon, I can maybe stay there. It is, after all TGIF ;)

I think you will see a lot of votes going up, down, up, etc. because some voters are going back and reevaluating their vote. It took me till last night just to group the photos in three categories [didn’t meet challenge, interpretation, did meet challenge] because of the high number of entries. Now I’m going back and adjusting votes based on quality, approach, and technique. So a lot of people should see their averages go up a few tenths of a point.

How about weekend voters? Are they kind to your picture? Mine have voted round-about the same, 6.3, but I have received 14 very encouraging comments which are worth more than any score.

My score pretty much sucks. It is being interpreted as not meeting the challenge. It does meet the challenge, but it may require more than 2 seconds to come to that conclusion. With this many entries we are all lucky to get 2 seconds. I just can't make myself take the obvious, hit-em-over the head with the challenge shots very often. I feel I will probably have to learn to live with the lower scores:

At least a few more have viewed....

Common! let's get voting!

I've had a very tight range the whole time....5.3's being low on the first morning....held high 5.5's-low 5.6 all week now it just made it to 5.7's. Good # of comments considering the # of entries.

Don't worry, I'm sitting down here as usual.

Like jbeazell says, less than half have voted...or maybe not. When I had ten votes I was sitting on 6.2!

Quote should have been dartompkins

The weekend voters have been very kind to me. I'm currently at 6.1259 (up from 5.91 on thursday), and also have 14 comments. (some are wonderful, some are iffy ;)) But I loooooooooooovvvvvvveeee comments.

I supremely can't wait for wildlife to be done too.. as I think I have a true winner with my defining feature shot :)

not really complaining about my score, its the best I've held on to so far but I will get better scores with time.. but having a few more comments would really help speed up that process. i've myself commented on about 25-30 of the entries. some good ones!

20-30 comments for over 440 pictures that's not even up to 10% ;) I commented on 25% (110 pictures) and it was difficult. Probably everybody has the same problem - too many pictures to comment on. Don't expect much. I think you were lucky to get 2 comments :)

Good luck!

I've tried coming back to comment on others' shots almost every day of this week. But it's going really slow due to the number of pictures posted.

Well people just don't like mine for some reason. I really liked it and still do. It's part of something, not a studio shot. Good focus and color, my son loved it and wanted to have it framed, but my wife said that the subject of the photo itself was old and not that "attractive". She's like that ;) (No, it's not a picture of me ;)

I am sitting at 4.93 with only two comments, 241 votes, my lowest in a long time. So I guess everyone agrees with my wife. Hope there's an upswing. At this point, I just want to get back into the 5's! I was there for the first 45 votes, but I've been as low as 4.7!

Anytime I am above my average, I am happy, as that means I'm improving. In this case, I am ½ point over my norm of 5.7077, so far with:

...and up to 16x20 print approved already - Woo Hoo! (and to think it was hand-held at 1/15 sec too)

I'm currently at a 6.1475. I've been bouncing between 6.12 and 6.18 for the last 3 days, so I'm sure I'll finish with a 6.15 - 6.2 (I can dream!!!). I'm thinking I *might* need a 6.3 to grab a top 10, so that's probably out, but top 20 isn't out of reach.. so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Just checked mine....

Gonna have another beer to numb the pain...oh, the pain...give me another beer!
