| I am in the market for a new camera. I already have the Minolta Dimage5, but would like a smaller compact camera that I can take backpacking etc.. My preferences for a new camera are, small size,under $350.00, at least 2mp's, uses a compact flash card (since I already have these for my Minolta), and manual exposure control. The Powershot S30 looks like a great camera, are there any other ones in this class that I should be looking at? |

| Not that I know of... If 350 is your price then I believe the S30 is your camera. And I'm not biased at all:) My only complaint about this fine camera its macro disabilty. You can get nice macros, but it can be tricky. |

Same for me. Macro is not great .. but otherwise .. a great cam ! compact and can be full auto or full manual if you want to (manual exposure, manual speed and ;anual focus).
