I've been kindof on a photography break here for the past few months due to new job and relocation. Now I am starting to get back into it. Anyway I have started critiquing photos as I gear up to start entering challenges again. I have noticed that I am the only one currently from the critique club...critiquing. That is a bit sad. There are over 400 members (some I am sure are inactive) and there is a huge supply of uncritiqued pics. I know I have some in queue. Lets start knocking out some of these pics people.....

Really appreciate you picking this up again. I've stopped ticking critique box because I recognised that there was a backlog - my fabby DPL team are filling in the gaps. Would be fab if it could get going again! Hopefully, one day, I'll be in a position to offer my own support as a 'Critiquer' but need to develop my own skills first!!! Thank you.

ok Ive done 21 images...Im done for a while

One of those 21 you've 'done' was mine Adam, I'm very grateful to you. Your comments were well considered and largely positive so obviously welcome.

I happen to very firmly believe that constructive critique is one of THE most valuable ways we, as photographers, can help each other to develop so regardless of how my images are regarded constructive comments will always be very very welcome indeed whether they are positive or negative. I always flag my images for critique and your input is the first I have received for a very long time. Having said that I have not been as regular a contributor as I would have preferred.

For the reasons I have just stated it saddens me that such a crucially useful feature appears to have been so neglected, we all owe it to each other to help each other in this wonderful hobby, pastime, way of life even that we all love so much.

Thanks again Adam, much appreciated.

Bless you, Adam. You caught one of the nine critiques I've requested of the Critique Club since the end of April.

Thank you.

As Sid pointed out it is tragic that such a "..useful feature appears to have been so neglected."

Critique membership continually needs renewal. The 400 members include those who started when the site started.
Only a few of us hung in there, others left or just didn't want to anymore.

Therefore, new critiquers need to come on board all the time. So, if you enjoyed the critique you received, join
the Club. Add your 2 cents to the discussion. Contact any SC member. They will point you in the right direction.

Here's a goal for you. I've been (ahem) the all time critique giver for a very long time now, and I haven't given
a critique in nearly a year.

So, (nyana, nyana) catch me if you can.
:)

SC to get a better understanding of who is still in the club could we start eliminating inactive members. That way new members may be motivated to join.

Adam? This might be better answered by a 'ticket'. And then perhaps post the results here. That way all the SC members will have a stab at your question. Those on line might not have a handle on the Critique Club. Just a thought.

I would be happy to contribute to the critique club, how does one contact a site council member?

we have knocked out a bunch of backlog. Still plenty more
07/02/2015 05:53:42 PM · #19
Thanks to everyone in the Critique Club who has been addressing the backlog. I have had several of mine critiqued and very much appreciate everyone's helpful comments.

Thanks, Adam, for the spark!

Well I just critiqued a pic from the April free study. We have made a dent in the backlog. I would like to tank the other people that have been doing some critiques. Also I would like to thank the people sending me pm's dealing with the critiques.
