I am very confused, I just got this windows 8 and can not find nothing LOL!

After a few hrs I found my fonts folder, it is installed in there and I also installed this one paticular font I plan on using in the adobe library font folder as well,
This particular font shows up in word but still will not show up in photoshop?

I restarted Photoshop a few times, but now at a loss, google is not helping..
Any one have any issues with new fonts not showing up?

I bet you mean PS CS5 -- which is actually version 12 ... now I use PS 5.0 (1998 release) ... :-)

You said you found the fonts folder, but WHICH fonts folder are you referring to? Hopefully you are talking about c:->Windows->Fonts.

Also, you seem to be referring to a particular font ("it is installed in there"). Are all your other fonts showing up? Be aware that MANY times when you download a font, then install it, it will NOT install with the name that you "thought" it was...for instance, I downloaded a font called "Celtic", but I couldn't find it in the folder. Finally figured out it was "DS Celtic". There are fonts that will have letters or numbers in front of the name, and windows will file it that way.

And finally, is this particular font one that you have used before with Photoshop? If the font is corrupt for some reason, Photoshop will not show it. I have occasionally had a downloaded font not show up in Photoshop, at all, but this is rare in my experience.

Usually when I do the fonts, I always install them in the windows font which I never have to do anything else with it.. it is always there... The second font folder is rare and I had to do this a couple times, but for the most part, I did it to this one as well...that I installed was the adobe

at
Library > Application Support > Adobe > Fonts which sometimes I have had to do, then I restart the computer and reboot everything then it is in there...

Also, I have never used this particular font, this is a totally new font that I have never used before and I usually get all my fonts off from the 1001 free fonts or www.fontspace.com

That is good to know and the names too, I will check that as well now and change it if I have too.. I have found something familiar that worked perfectly but still am not happy with the results I really want.

I would tell ya what font it is, but if i do that, It will give away the entry to my book cover :-))

The letters in front usually designate the foundry or designer which distributes that particular version.

Yeah I had no clue it would do that! I have never had issues downloading fonts before, this caught me off big time and had me stumped.

I do have to say this expert challenge has me really super excited :-D

Hi, I have faced this issue & this is commonly happening, Most probably this issue happens due to installing bad fonts, and having a corrupt OS is also the second reason. If the font is good and well known then it should be open in Photoshop & work fine.

It often happens when Photoshop releases it\\\\\\\'s updates, you have to make sure you to update your software. another issue for not appearing the font in Photoshop is the OS font cache is corrupted & the OS font API\\\\\\\'s are broken.

Solution: Here\\\\\\\'s the step by step tutorial for enable the fonts:

1 Solution: Update Photoshop to the most recent version

2. Choose Help > Updates (this is the preferred update method).

2. Now download the most latest update from the Adobe official website.

1 Solution: Turn off the Photoshop font Preview in the preferences.

1. Choosing Type > Font Preview Size.

2. Select None.
