Michael Moore is going to be at Michigan State University today at noon. The Campus Republicans are gonna have a rally across from the Auditorium. I'm gonna go see if I can get any good candid/photojournalism type shots. Look for them here soon!

If I had the time, I would protest Michael Moore myself, but definately not next to the Republicans. I would do so as a seperate entity that is against waste of time punditry by people such as Michael Moore, Anne Coultier, Rush Limbaugh and their ilk...

To me, they are nothing but entertainment outlets, like Palm Readers and other Psychics. Unfortunately, far to many Americans take what these people say seriously.

I should add that it sounds like a great idea and hopefully you can get some good shots of the protesters and those that will protest the protesters... I can't wait to see the images.

I will! Sounds like a great opportunity. Don't forget you can be "artistic" even while being a photojournalist : )

I'm looking forward to the photographs as well!

I would love to be there and capture the emotion of the event!

Edit: Removed political baggage from the post...

Try to keep the discussion in this thread to the photographic aspects of covering this event.

Discussion of the event "contents" is likely to lead to the redirection of the thread into the dreaded (and oft-hidden) Rant section.

This one was taken at an Anti-Iraq war last winter... One of my favorites...

Why don't we want to keep politics out of this thread?

That adjective was used to describe the type of rally that was happening, of which photographs will be taken.

Notice that the original poster was talking about photography and refrained from discussing politics.

Heesh, I wondered if this would border on the rant when I posted it. Just a comment. There was really no one at this so called event. I guess that 'Campus Republicans' may be a myth. There wasn't anything really to take shots of and I refuse to boost Mr. Moore's self worth by waiting around to try and photograph him...

Next I will try to photograph Elvis' next album signing event in Kalamazoo...

***This photograph has obviously been doctored. No such signs ever existed, at least that's the way it looks to me. I have been at numerous anti-war rallies and the fonts of these signs, as well as, their messages appear to have been changed.
