I have occasionally praised the concept of commenting on images that score low or need help. But then I paradoxically vote on an entire challenge without leaving comments on those very images I scored low.

So I'm changing my tune a bit. For photographers that want to improve; Read comments on high-scoring or "favorited" images or even on images YOU like. Certainly being inspired by successful images is just as valuable as someone chatting about how yours could improve.

I know this might sound obvious, but looking for critical comments on your own images may be less expeditious than looking at others.

Indeed! And not necessarily what worked technically, but what has enthused commenters. Sometimes it's creativity, or the use of color, or lighting.

As long as I've been here, I'm always learning new things about this site...

In the old days, that was always my first stop when I logged in here. I would see what others had been looking at and commenting on. Todd see who had posted new stuff to their portfolio based on new comments. Sadly, we go for days sometimes with no new comments.
