Just wanted to share some of the shots I didn't use for the Touch Challenge. My original concept was to smash the marshmallows into a face (mine, in these images) and have the sticky threads pulling off forehead, nose, cheeks, etc

I tried these using the self timer and manual focus with the camera on a tripod, and used black foamcore board for the background . The lighting also was not as dramatic as I wanted it.

When I went with the second concept of the kids smooshing the marshmallows in their hands and making a sticky "cat's cradle", I was able to control the situation better. I also had my main light source bouncing off a white foamcore to light Samantha and Zach.

Despite what you might think, the marshmallow comes off really easily with warm water. (I should know as I smashed about 30 of them into my face over a series of many takes...) And 15 seconds in the microwave makes them *really* *really* hot!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I appreciate it.

Jelly Babies also get very hot in the microwave!!!

A few years ago I was in the home economics class at high school. The teacher was out of the room, we were bored and wondered what hot jelly babies were like.

Wee put them in for 20 seconds, at about 15 seconds the teacher came back in.

I quickly turned the microwave off, opened it and tried to pull the jelly baby out with my fingers...

I now know that touching a really hot jelly baby will give you a nice big red blister on your finger, and a nice row from the teacher for playing in class. :-)
