Freaky Friday, Solar Eclipse, Supermoon, Spring Equinox

Just saw this and thought some of you might like to see it...unfortunately it won't be visible here in the states...sigh

And it's going to snow here tomorrow, too. It was almost 70F degrees two days ago.

I hate March.

The Supermoon won't be visible, either, since it's a new moon.

Here's a webpage with the schedule of all eclipses for the next 10 years (although, you can select beyond that, and narrow they type of eclipse): //www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/list.html

I think the media is getting a little carried away with the term "supermoon"...

There should be a 98% eclipsed sun in my part of Scotland. But weather forecast is bad, very cloudy and possible rain. Meaning I'm going to miss the second great sky event (after the aurora borealis which was not visible due to a layer of fog) this week :-(
Will bring my photo gear anyway tomorrow, you'll never know!

I was in Holland in January and it looked like a permanent solar eclipse :-).

Here's my attempt at the eclipse. Don't really have the right gear for this sort of thing - my longest lens at the moment is 85mm. Still, with a heavy crop it looks ok.

We got lots of clouds, but on the moment of maximum eclipse, the sun just peeked through the clouds, so I was kind of lucky!

My efforts at catching it in Somerset. I like both of yours better:)

We get an almost total eclipse on August 21, 2017.

I'm no meteorologist, but I'm going to predict right now that it will be cloudy and raining that day.

Lucky you, here the clouds changed to a more dark grey look and then turned back to normal grey, kind of 50 shades of grey ;)

It's also a "quadruple witching day" on Wall Street.

Don't ask me.

shooting f64 8000 second certainly shows you how dirty your sensor and lens are haha
