Got my 20D yesterday (wooohooooo!) and am exploring the bundled software.
I never used s/w that came with the 10D for RAW processing as I really wasn't very fond of it and preferred Capture ONE or using Photoshop CS directly.
However, the 20D has come bundled with something called:
Digital Photo Professional
It seems to be the new RAW processing software, although the original s/w that came with the 10D was also included on a separate CD.
I have to say I am very impresed with this indeed. It certainly beats the PS option and for usability I think I already prefer it to Capture ONE (although as mine is stuffing around right now I can;t compare directly at this moment).
Anyone else played with this neat little package yet?

Does it only work with canon RAW? Not other formats?

I have no idea, I only have Canon RAW files to work with. I did just test it with the 10D RAW files and the 20D .CR2 files and it works with both of those.

I am curious if anyone has any more input on Digital Photo Professional?
Specifically those that are using the RAW converter in Photoshop CS - I am curious to hear from those that like one compared to the other, and for what reasons.
I myself have to say I am sticking with the RAW converter in Photoshop CS for now, but part of the reason I am sure is comfort factor; I know my way around in that utility very well. As a free add-on this tool looks pretty good though.

Thanks for posting the info about this, Simon! I didn't even look at the software that came with my 20D (cuz the included software is usually cheesy) but DPP looks pretty damn awesome. I'm going to try it with my next batch of RAW files to see how it compares to PS camera raw. I'll post back with results.

Yeah, I quite like DPP, it is a LOT better than the usual junk you get on those sort of CD's, that I seldom even look at unless it has drivers I need.
Not sure, but I think I may still go back to CaptureOne though when it supports the 20D.

Good day,
The Canon DPP program can be used with RAW files, as well as JPEG files. It is meant to help you with your digital workflow, and as such obviously helps you to process large batches of photographs in one go.
It also does 'curves', so for those who only have Photoshop Elements instead of Photoshop CS, it provides some of the missing functionality. :-)
