That may be true in challenges such as this. I was very heavy handed with the effect on my entry as i thought i'd see how far i could push it without actually vomiting

Same for me. I don't like Orton effect, unless it's used just to enhance a little bit the colors (but still I never use it). In any case it's always good to experiment and try :)

I hope this conversation thread gets started after the challenge. It would be very interesting to see the before & after for something like this.

Well, rats. Maybe next time! (Though I'm pretty sure I'll give a pass to Orton II.) :-)

I was up to a 6.7 at one point which was slightly worrying as i'd rather not have this craziness putting my nice dour monotone profile page out of joint. It's down to a 6.4 now so panic over hopefully.

I think the key to this challenge was maybe not the amount of Ortoning, but the subject matter that got Ortoned. I'm shocked by my score...WAY higher than I was expecting, mind you I always expect middling to lower. Plus, I've gotten a nice dose of commenting so far, more than my last few entries combined. I have yet to vote, but I'll get to it eventually.

Been up and down a bit but always staying just above 6.5. Which I was expecting 6.5 to 6.8 so happy with how its going so far.

I think my mistake was that I didn't Orton the crap out if it. I do love this effect, but, rarely do I care for it when it's too overdone. So, I guess I'll just take my hit and be happy in the middle of the heap, which at this moment (until the next vote I'm sure), it is at 6.000.
