I get a private mail warning me and a call out in this thread, someone who cheats not only doesn't apologize but doesn't get called out, such great justice Paul, bravo.

John - you know as well as I do that having volunteered to act as a member of SC there are certain responsibilities that come with that. I'm not making my activities up as I go along but basing it on the expectations of me in relation to that role.

What happens when someone starts a thread that says "Hey what ever happened to so and so?"
Does it get shut down?
If someone starts such a thread do they get suspended?

I stopped reading the thread after Scalvert's post and jumped right to here: My only real issue with the whole situation is trust. Someone we all (an assumed 'all') trusted violated that trust. That pisses me off.

But if you're referring to John saying he was not going this alone, I confess... I have no idea whether there are others, but I did write to tell John that I support his efforts and appreciate his taking this on. As the thread(s) have moved on and I've read what he and others have had to say, I find I do agree that we all should know who was "outed". It's only fair. I think John has taken care of the reasons why. And I believe it would be best for everyone here, overall, come what may.

Hey guys--

To my knowledge, we've never shed light on who exactly was suspended or banned even in the most egregious of cases. I don't think it's a good idea to start doing that now, and I can't fathom that any good can come from it. The users in question have accepted their punishment and I think would very much like to return the site in good standing once that suspension is up.

Sorry if I vexed you or made you feel bad Paul, it was stupid of me.
To any other people that I've made feel bad here, sorry, things get heated and it's silly to vex someone in a discussion.
Also sorry to Cory for disappointing him, ok this last one isn't exactly authentic but the other two apologies were.
I know that the people I'm disagreeing with are probably really great in real life.

It isn't hard to apologize and it isn't hard to forgive, this is even more true in a virtual setting such as this.
Why oh why can't the person or persons who did this not get the chance to apologize, someone got targeted for over a year, the person who targeted them got caught, the powers that be decide that: The guilt party gets to keep full anonymity, the targeted one doesn't get to know why or who targeted them (trust me, they know that they were targeted) the community doesn't get an apology, the victim doesn't get an apology. I am asking all of you, where is the justice in that, this is supposed to be a fair place, this decision goes completely against that fairness.
I'm stiil on a small thing so sorry for the mistakes.

I really thought he was saying that he was going to publicly accuse the people he suspects. Which would be so crazy that I would be shocked if he did it.

Penny, I have no reason to give you any backlash, but I do respectfully disagree with your premise. I am actually quite sorry that you really think I'm going to cause you grief over stating your position. John and I just have a thing, we've never really agreed on much - I love the man's work, but I'll never miss an opportunity to beat him up on a really crappy idea, and he rarely misses an opportunity to return the favor.

I will leave this alone now, the powers that be felt obliged to get help from the big guy, you know, the one that doesn't enter any challenges, never votes, only shows up once in every two blue moons when things are going really badly.
