Oh...as the Supreme Master of the Mediocre...I was resigned to a "no comment" challenge.
But, apparently, I still got one! And, no doubt...my only one.

I don't know what you're complaining about.... my "best of 2014" ended up in the bottom 1%... my worst ever finish - though I think it's selection might have been too biased towards the "art of" challenge that I also had in mind when browsing my archive.
Thankfully, my "Art of" entry isn't doing to poorly.

My membership comes due in a couple of weeks as well. My enthusiasm for shootiing to score well disappeared years ago and I have taken my breaks but I will renew. Looking at my entry and filling in the description reminds me of why i shoot in the first place - to please myself and capture the lives around me. And the comments that i receive remind me that others, while not many, enjoy peeking into those captures as well.
And with that, I will continue on with my iPhone and magnetic lenses and pepper you all with the mediocrity that is my "art", hiding in the background and enjoying the party. ;) |

| I'm sitting at 5.8 but I received one of the best comments I've ever gotten so I'm extremely happy with it, and I really love the shot. |

I'm going to try to comment on everything. But I realize that I really want to say what I think. Sometimes it is sounding harsh, but it's my feelings on the photos how they fit the challenge, imo.
I'm hoping that people are looking for honest comments. |

Actually, no: the JURORS are commenting with bagged heads, so they've encouraged everyone else to do the same so nobody can tell which comments are coming from the jury... |

Yes, that's what I meant. And of course it's optional to "play along" in this way - but a number of us are. I will not be able to comment on anywhere near all the images, but I am "bagged" for those that I do get to. |

Honesty is the best policy. For sure.
Unfortunately, its results are why I stopped commenting so much.
The backlash of Private messages.... well... I just stopped commenting with as much honesty. :D

My sole comment (not the commenter, but the actual comment that was abandoned on the page with my image) hated my image so much it would rather disappear into the void than be associated for all time. Can't say I much blame it ;)
