Adorama is supposed to be a respectable institution in the photography world, right? And they have their learning center where the photography pundits of the world give out tips and tricks. I ran into this article //www.adorama.com/alc/0014427/article/optimize-your-nikon-d3200-buying-guide. Some expert named Mason Resnick (https://plus.google.com/115947472499250712031/posts), suggests accessories for the Nikon D3200 DSLR. 5 kits for 5 different applications.

The first item that so called expert recommends is a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF. There is a convenient link to the $139.95 product in the Adorama store. This is a lens that is incompatible with the D3200. It requires an AF coupling to autofocus that the D3200 lacks. And this incompatibility is not mentioned in the article. On the contrary the author state in the intro Here are 5 suggested kits for 5 very different kinds of photography, built around the Nikon D3200. If you own an earlier or later D3*** model, such as the D3000 or D3100, these kits will work with your camera, too. In fact, if you own any APS

My best guess is they wanted to add the 50mm 1.8D for portraits BUT the article was written in 2013 before the 50mm 1.8g came out. I'm pretty sure that will work with your D3200 it works in my D5000.

The 50mm f/1.8G is totally different lens that IS compatible with the low end Nikon DSLRs such ad D3xxx and D5xxx series. It has been introduced by Nikon in 2011. The article is bullshit.

While it is good to alert any possible readers here, it seems it might be more widely useful to send a copy of your note to Adorama ...
