Excellent work, but have you ever noticed that most "great" photographers are considered great because they can go places and take pictures of people and places that most of us can never go or only dream of seeing? I think there are a lot of great photographers that only have access to normal, every day people, places and things, but then the groups that decide who is the Top number of photographers don't consider them.

There's a bit of a click-bait type befuddle with it i think. 'Top 10 Travel Portrait Photographers' becomes '10 Most Famous Portrait Photographers In The World!' in the actual link which, Steve McCurry aside, is a bit of a stretch but that's click bait and hyperbole for you. 8 or 9 of them may fall under the stock-like 'Travel Portraiture' although i'm at a loss as to why Lee Jeffries is in there - unless poking your lens into the faces of the homeless can be classed as a type of vacation to the lower classes - which i guess it can - as can it all perhaps. Holiday In Cambodia and all that. |
