I hope this isn't a repeat thread. First I'd like to say thanks for all who appreciated my entry! I'm really happy! And here are some of the ones I was questioning.

Here's my entry
.

this isn't an edited version, but I had a few.
.

Here's the one I submitted before changing to the real entry.
.
Now let's see yours!

stupid question... how do you post photos?
09/22/2004 01:52:40 PM · #3
you can hit the button and then put in a url. if you need a host... this works.

You should end up with something like...
(img)//dpchallenge.com/images/forum/b-img.gif(/img)

only with [] instead of ()

I think you picked the right one for your entry, it really shows the defenders protecting the QB well and, he's almost posing for you, very nice.

Logan, your entry was the one I predicted to ribbon (blue) but sorry my prediction didn't turn out right. I think you made a good decision, IMHO, to submit this entry and to shoot it how you shot it. The cheerleader is ok but doesn't have the oomph of your final entry.

I like the anonymity of the players so the readers are able to make up stories about them. The filling up of the frame is very attractive. Colors are great. DOF I think is good but others may not like the blurring of the background players.

#7 is not bad ... judging from your portfolio, you will be in the top 3 in no time at all.

I had these three outtakes, so to speak... including one where I tried to clone the fence out but it just looked bad.

Ultimately went with this one:

I really liked the one you entered, it really caught the moment and a big part of the pre-game

I like the 3rd one better than the entry only because of the fence. It's a little distracting I guess.

This the same picture for two different challenges or everything just caught the same way?

not trying to stir up anything just like to know how he did that.

Jimmy, I really, really like your "passing" photo - Great work!

Logan, I really, really like the cheerleader shot (not just because all guys like cheerleaders!). I like where she is in reference to the goal posts

Great shots!!

Thanks but the goal post is actually a reason I didn't choose it. I kinda disects her in a way and I felt it was distracting from her. She was being held up by one of the guys for this shot, which is how this perspective was achieved. Anyways I'm gonna be gone for awhile as I have class and 2 exams tomorrow!

In my two photos, I didn't choose the first one because it was captured a little too tightly. And of course on the second one, (which I wanted to work so badly) the netting didn't completely rack out of focus. I also didn't completely "stop the ball".

I would've used it instead if the netting wasn't there.

Good eye, I guess everyone below it will get a little boost if the Admin DQs the second one.

What shutter speed were you using? It seems like there was a lot of light to use a higher speed to "freeze" the ball.
