The former 1st place image in "Bad II" has been disqualified for combining elements from two different scenes to make a composite.

When combining multiple frames in Advanced editing, each exposure becomes a new "scene" if significant elements change between exposures. Combining changing elements between frames is not allowed except under Expert Editing. In this case, the head of the little girl was grafted in from a different frame of the series.

Congratulations to the new ribboning image and HM.

See the "Bad II" Challenge here.

I think you're wrong, actually. I'm *usually* arguing for more slack, not less. In this case, it's utterly cut-and-dried. It just so happens that since I'm fully retired and have a lot of time available, I'm very often the one who checks the consensus, pushes the button, and posts the explanatory thread. I'm making an effort to be completely transparent and post detailed explanations of why the DQ happened.

I really hope you are joking here. It's my impression that the SC is much more open re reasons for DQ's, is trying to clarify (or get clarified) the art rules and has even changed the Expert Editing Ruleset in order to not DQ an image. And all since bear_music is a SC member. It's just bad luck so many winning images are not edited confirm the different rule sets.

Therefore a big Thank You to Bear and the SC Members for all the good work!

Still, it was enough to get you put on the SC watchlist. :P

Yes, but as I was told by an older co-worker when I was in college (the first time), once you're over the hill you get to coast all the way down ... ;-)

I'll add to the chorus thanking the SC for the more detailed DQ explanations, both here in the threads and also on the images themselves.
