Thanks! I was fuzzy in my memory it looks like. But the point seems to be the same. Thanks for your assistance! BTW, do people think they tend to get voted lower for submitting a picture similar to one they have used recently?

Don't you think they look the same?

I wanted to leave a comment on the first one after I voted on it.
Liked the "Original" by Kiwiness better, but didn't

Now compare the photographers of these 2 photo's....

Understand what I am trying to say?

You're aware that both shots are from the same photographer right?

Is it possible that somone photographed a subject similar to a previous contest winner, unaware that they were doing so. I for one did not even look at the other stop motion challenge. Maybe others did not either.

Just a thought.

Well guess what??? It happened, and I personally vote low on anything that looks as though its a copy of a previously winning photo. In fact there was so much of it going on that it was getting very irritating.

What is everyone elses opinion on this mater? Am I being too harsh?

Sure must be nice to be new to photography and full of all kinds of original ideas, that nobody has ever tried before.

Should we all keep an eye out for your entries and vote you a "1" if it looks similar to something else that has been submit on DPC before? Probably not.

Yes, you're being a bit harsh. Don't punish people for trying to learn from others...that's the whole point of this site.

someone must have read the challenge details wrong.

"Catch your subject mid-action -- that means no motion trails! Let's see how well your timing meets your creativity. Good luck!"

It doesn't say "originality"

edit: replaced "Someone" for "I" because I did read it right the first time

I don't mark down for shots that looks similar to shots that I've seen in this challenge or previous challenges.. That being said, I tend to give higher scores for originality, whether consiously or sub-counsiously, I don't know.
