So I went to see "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" yesterday... the visuals were great! It's definitely worth seeing just for that, but it also cracked me up because one of the main characters is struggling throughout most of the film because she only has two shots left on her camera (her bag of film having been lost dramatically along the way) and she is constantly debating with herself over what to use them on. I won't ruin any of it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I seriously encourage photographers to see it. Not only is it an amusing film for the general public, but there's an element we can truly appreciate that's lost on most people!

Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

I saw a trailer for it the other day, looks pretty good, but they ripped the music straight from Stargate SG1! Was the whole film done in front of a blue-screen?

All blue screen, and they did an amazing job. Some of the foreground stuff was digital, too. Any time the camera was on Gweneth the image was all softfocus and glowing like a typical 40s film starlet close-up. I totally forgot about the bluescreen most of the time, but it was fun to remind myself every now and then.

I just saw this movie and it's incredible. I'm a huge fan of any world war II era explorations of the future (ala War of the Worlds).

I can't believe some of the reviews actually bothered to talk about character development, consistency, blah blah blah...they've missed the point.

It's as if the comic book writers from the 40's were torn from their era, were given today's technology, and made a beautiful movie for 8 year old boys to watch...that's what I was in the theatre tonight...8 years old.

Beautiful if you love nostalgia-creation...it's a great postmodern mix of elements combined into one great story...

I'll stop now...but promise me you'll go see the movie!

Has anyone seen Alien Vs Predator?

Can it be worth watching without Sigourney Weaver and Arnold :)

Story line is very weak especially from the Alien side of the story. MY two cents worth, wait for it to come to cable...

My husband insisted, so I saw it. The story is a bit weak, but the setting was cool. I would say wait for it on cable, but it may be better to see the big screen version. It may need the extra help the big screen adds to keep your attention. Summary: its OK.
