Did you know it takes about 10 minutes to fold and put away laundry?

The last 6 challenges have TOTAL average votes of 66.

Piet Mondrian 71, Asymmetry 62 votes, Incandescence 74, Get Well Bear_Music 62,
Underfoot 63, Macro II 64 votes

Hidden Gem was an nice spike of 126 votes. Gone are the days of the 100 vote check-in.

BUT it doesn't mean the vote tally need slip under 100. Travel in the imagination or beautiful locations by looking at pretty or interesting pictures

- in 10 minutes you could vote in a challenge. *If* you have not already, go get out the VOTE!

or would you rather fold laundry?:-D

Well I,m sorry but that laundry won't fold and put itself away.

Its all very well for you ladies with lots of time on your hands.

OK, I voted on all three. Please excuse the dirty, wrinkled clothes.

Laundry aside, I don't feel I've "completed" the challenge until I vote for all in those I enter. If I want votes, I have to assume the other entrants do too.

Agreed.

Not sure I actually fold laundry. Shuffle it, herd it along to its long lonesome home. But yes, I try to vote: at first out of guilt until I am in a sea full of miasma, punching numbers here and there until I see a pattern, shuffle some more, tweak here, tweak there, and hope that I have a half decent picture. Every 50th wash there is always some item that has to go either in my favourite pile or to the rag bag...

I voted through two of the challenges.

Completely agree. I've voted all three and don't have a horse in the race

Awww Neil, whatever happened to your Super Hero resolution? Faster than 1600 ISO, more powerful than DPC trolls, able to leap tall laundry in a single bound - you know, Super Hero stuff;-) :-) (I say this in good fun, just so you know)

Agreed Penny, if one puts in the effort to put in an entry, one should also put in effort to vote - to complete the balance of give and take.

What I'd like to see is a large mix of average of participants and average of non-participants bring up the Total Vote tally close to or at 100. A greater total number of votes will give one a fairly balanced "bigger picture" of how well/not well it is received by better balanced number representing the different DPC walks of life.

Benches just rolled over with a Total Vote count of 80-85 which is FAR better than the recent numbers in the low 60's.

Thanks to all who did vote and continue to vote.
I really hope that we can keep that number up.

Yes votes count.

Look at the Benches challenge if the same amount of people voted for the 3rd and 4th place image the ribbon could have changed hands. It was that close.

I'm not saying one image was better than the other (they are both very nice) I'm just saying it was very close.

Yes, my philosophy too. But that's only half of it. If I couldn't inspire myself enough/get off my butt to compete, then all the more reason to appreciate the efforts of those who did. I usually vote on both counts.

Just hit 100 votes in the 10 seconds challenge. Just as dismal a score as it was at 50, but at least I know everyone really doesn't like it :)
Thanks for the shot in the arm, Chrystyne. We needed it.

WOW 104 votes and still time to spare.
06/24/2014 02:30:17 PM · #15
Well, I have 109 votes but 0 comments ...

107 and 1 comment.

I don't need comments to know where I went wrong. I'd just like a few votes to pretend I didn't.
06/24/2014 05:13:38 PM · #18
I've already voted on all the challenges, but the laundry has still not folded itself :(

Around 54 to 58 votes (that last number is what is reported in thread) on Shallow DOF Landscape.

A day and a half of voting left over....hope that total vote count can get to 95-100

Will continue to do my part - voted on SDOF Landscape, Local Flavor, and Sunrise/Sunset II

This post made me think back to several years ago when I started on DPC.. I guess more people were around back then to vote (and participate!)

For example, in the Green II challenge, I received 268 votes despite there being 448 entries!! Now I wish my entry wouldn't have been so god-awful dreadful haha. *hides in shame*

Yup, those were the days - now votes have fallen along with the number of entries and a rise with the number of people who don't vote.

I'm SO HAPPY to have an excuse ready for Hubby when he comes home... "No... I didn't fold the laundry. But, it's clean and in the dryer for you. I DID vote on ALL of the current challenges, though!"

The best part is that... Hubby doesn't mind. He loves it that I have a passion for photography.

Maybe, I'll glance at the laundry room door tomorrow.

Might go in the day after!

It's SO worth voting! Commenting? Even BETTER!!

I know how I love to get them.

So, with only a day and a few hours Horror has less than 60 votes.

It would be a damn shame for it to finish with less than 80 votes.
