are we supposed to put watermarks on our photos for side challenges?

What are these 'actions' I have heard about the past two days. *googling* *reading* Ah ha.

And oh my. I still have to learn curves once I move to PSCC, and there I will also be able to experiment with warp. (Because flip n blend is AWESOME!)

Today I just found out how to shoot my camera in 'vivid' mode while also increasing saturation and contrast (just a tad). Who knew? And now there is another new word 'actions'. And I thought I was doing good to have a fairly solid understanding (albeit somewhat less than solid implementation) of aperture and using manual settings on my camera.

Last weekend I finally started a notebook where I can take notes as I learn new things - it appears I have a ways to go.

But thanks for sharing all of this information, these little machines we all own are just incredible. I can't imagine having to figure this all out by trial and error on my own.

To answer your question "actions" are little "recordings" of the keystrokes that you do repeatedly over and over...for instance Minimal Editing...we can only do x amount of steps...so I have done an action for those couple of steps with a pause or two in it so I can decide if I want to add more sharpening or not. They are new to me as well...but a great source to find out more about this is YouTube...great examples there....

No, that was just to show you HOW an action is created. All actions are recorded in thre same way, they start and stop in the same way: it's the steps you take between starting and stopping that "become" the action. It's very easy.

Here is mine from the recent challenge

Created using icolorama and Tangled FX on the ipad with this starting image

It was really neat trying this technique out... And quite addictive, too! ;-)
