my shot is being interpreted in ways I didn't intend- or plan on. perhaps that is the beauty of the ride...

the yoyo effect has started today, score is up one hour, down the next, up again, down again.

I think we have a good many political voters for this challenge. If you hate guns, you might find it hard to give high scores. Ribbon winners most likely not to top 7 score.

Same here. I had a low score of 5.2 the other day. Then, a high of 6.4 yesterday. Today, it is going up and down around 6-ish.

I'm guessing I'll get less than 5 votes til rollover. Last two challenges I entered there were about 70-75 votes per challenge. Its weird that we don't see the "100 vote checkins" nowadays.

Bit of a generalization that... at least in my opinion.

I don't care much for religion or some of the "Posthumous" type images, but tend to vote on the quality of the image and nothing else.

Don and I have disagreed on many occasions about what constitutes art, but I nonetheless have one of his images as one of my favorites.

It is what it is... besides, there are only so many ways you can many a gun appealing.

I was up at a 5 but now I have been steady with 73 votes at the 4.9 level..my brother in laws father is stoked about the picture I took with his gun, cause he always wanted a picture of it.. he printed a 8x10 of it and my brother in law has a 5x7 of the print. As long as the owners are happy I am too! :-))

I saw this as a Guns challenge. Not a Gun challenge.

Hey everyone, show me your cars.

Doesn't mean each person has to show me more than 1 car for the plural of cars to be correct.

So does this mean you are actually dinging people if they didn't show more than one gun? Seriously, I had no clue people took this literal with plurals or not..

I've given up on trying to figure out how and why people take and add points to challenges - and I've only been here a month.

As for plurals, I clicked on the Challenge Archive link and find the following...

"Eggs" - 2 of the top 3 have a single egg
"Windows" - 1 of the top 3 have a single window (and it's really just a hole in the wall)
"Watches, Clocks and Other Time Pieces" - none of them have all of them, if we're really looking to get literal
...

You get the idea.

It's the English language, and the plural is commonly used to show inclusivity of many types. If it was a "gun" challenge the question becomes, "Which gun?" "Guns" allows for everything from those that fire ammunition that will put a hole in you, to those that squirt water, shoot staples, hammer nails, what have you.

There are threads that allow you to ask a question about plurals, if you actually feel the need to do that ahead of time, but to knock someone on the back end because of it seems rather ludicrous. But hey, people give 1's at will to "bad" photos because they don't like them. 1 to 10 is a "bad" to "good" scale, not a "hate" to "love" scale. But I suppose someone eating at McDonald's 7 days a week would likely say they got a "bad" meal at a 5 Star restaurant because the foie gras wasn't on a sesame seed bun.

Finally, someone with a bit of common sense. Thank you.
